The actions of staff if there is a fire are likely to be crucial to their safety and that of other people within the premises.
The requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005:
The actions of staff if there is a fire are likely to be crucial to their safety and that of other people within the premises. All staff should receive basic fire safety training and attend refresher sessions at pre-determined intervals.
All staff should be familiar with the location and basic operating procedures for the fire equipment provided, to ensure they know what to do, if they ever need to use it. If your fire strategy means that certain people, e.g. fire marshals, will be expected to take a more active role, then they should be provided with more comprehensive training. People with no training should not be expected to attempt to extinguish a fire.
